Applications of Boundary Energy’s ORC Units
Industrial Waste Heat
Industrial Processes that waste heat equals wasted resources for many industries. Having a low cost option to tap into 90+ degrees C waste heat could provide a simple opportunity to reduce power costs and emissions. Examples of industrial waste heat could be the back of generators, flues, stacks, or even using boilers.
Geothermal Heat
Geothermal heat is of increasing interest as a renewable source due to its 24/7 generation capability. A low temperature ORC option can open up opportunities to work with other higher temperature ORC units and tap into previous lower-temperature geothermal opportunities.
Thermal Solar Energy
Heat generated from the sun could provide significant untapped energy potential through the form of heat capture. It could also open up opportunities to store energy in the form of heat and generate power at off peak times.
Thermal Wind Energy
Capturing heat from windmills is another opportunity to access off-peak energy generation. The low temperature range needed opens up opportunities for lower energy storage needs, like heating hot water.
Biomass & Carbonisation Heat
There are a range of waste feedstocks that could be used to generate power, as well as our partner business IQ Energy’s carbonisation units which can have excess heat which can be used for further energy generation.
